Fighting the darkness...

Or do you think your life would be smaller, narrower, more withdrawn, judgmental, and negative, less winsome and creative, less involved with people, art, circumstances, and culture around?'"

I think we all know how our friends would answer this question. Can you blame them?

Of all people, we have reason to dance, create, live, know and be known by those around us -mess and all. We should care deeply about the trash on our street, the stray dogs on the corner, the poverty in our cities, the pain of our neighbors, the unspoken questions... for the promise of sadness reversed is written on our hearts. We should see in haunting music, well-composed verses, fine wine, and delicious food not an escape from painful reality but a taste of the reality to come - little glimpses of the coming Kingdom.

But we are busy. We are worried about the future. We are full of opinions. We are composed and put-together. Tonight I am wondering what it would look like to rattle the cage, blur the lines, and tear off a corner of the darkness.
