Fall Retreat

What do caves, poppyseed chicken, and hymns have in common? All were vital components of RUF Fall Retreat last weekend! We gathered with several other RUF groups for a refreshing weekend. A few highlights (in no particular order):

1. A hike that involved climbing through caves down into a massive valley. We saw vibrant green moss, flowers, ferns, and managed to not fall or get stuck in any of the small passage-way. Exciting!

2. Delicious food, cooked by ladies from a church in Birmingham. Poppyseed chicken, french toast, green bean cassarole, fresh fruit and granola... yummm.

3. Campfire! BSC students were the last to go to bed the final night. We stayed by the fire, talking about life, discussing the sermons, telling ghost stories. It's amazing how people open up with a s'more in hand and the a black night sky stretched overhead.

4. Uno Stacko. A game that combines Uno and Jenga and is a guaranteed rollicking good time! It's a BSC RUF tradition and though I'd never played before, I am now officially hooked.

5. Sermons - John Stone preached on repentence... thought-provoking material that has already sparked many discussions with students.

6. Spontaneous hymn sing-along. One afternoon, a bunch of students sat around and sang hymns, accompanied by a guitar and violin. So good to gather and sing the gospel to our hearts under beautiful blue skies.

Here are some pictures! Thanks for your prayers.
