Tomorrow. Christmas. Advent of a tiny babe, the long-awaited High Priest who rides on the wings of the dawn. He who bore the wrath of God, the sacficial lamb, the Redeember who represents the reedeemed in the divine courtroom, who prays fervently for His people, who speaks truth, atones for sins, draws His people into reconciliation. Jesus, awaken our hearts to your mystery this Christmas, a mystery so startling yet simple. Breath-taking glory wrapped in the mundane. Overwhelming hope veiled in soft skin, whispy hair, and a tiny feet. Redemption's wail pierced the night. Let your wail pierce our calloused hearts. Unsettle us. Break our wrought iron dams with the weight of our need. Drown us in the rushing rivers of your love. Disturb our poised souls with the whispers of hope that ride in the silent night.
